Get Started In 5 Steps Using Our Estimating Software
Step 1 - Set Up Your Software
What To Do
- Sign up for your free 30 day SpinLessPlates trial by clicking on an orange sign up button
- When you reach the software Dashboard screen press the setting button in the menu bar (#1 on image to left).
- Enter in your next estimate number (this may be 1 if you just starting) and the number of decimal places you work too (2 or 3)
- Upload your A4 PDF letterhead background that will show on each document. Click the Instruction button for a set up guide.
Step 2 - Create A New Estimate
What To Do
- The main screen has 2 areas, Add column on left and list of existing estimates in centre (#4 on image to left).
- To create your first estimate select who it is for on the left (#1 on image to left). If you need to add a company & contact then use the + buttons.
- Optional but recommended: Link your estimate to an enquiry (#2 on image to left). If you don't have one, you can add one by pressing the + button.
- Fill out other details as needed. To schedule a follow up task, pop in a date in #3 on image to left.
- Press the green Add Quote button at the bottom of the screen
Step 3 - Add Your Estimates Lines
What To Do
- Your entered details are on the left hand side (#1 on image to left).
- Type what you'd like to appear on estimate in descriptions box (#2 on image to left).
- Enter the quantity of what your estimating on (#3 on image to left).
- (Optional) If your product has a colour or a differentiating factor (gift wrapped, delivered, etc) enter in relevant boxes.
- Enter Cost and Sell Cost or Mark Up in correct boxes (#4 on image to left).
- Press the green Add button to enter your estimate line
- Click the Preview button when your estimate is finished
Step 4- Check Over Your Estimate
What To Do
- You can change your clients address details if you've made an error by typing straight into the address box and pressing return.
- If you need to update or amend the lines on your estimate, then use the Add/Edit lines tab for this (#1 on image to left).
- Want to add some special instructions to your estimate, perhaps how long it is valid for, then #2 is where you do this.
- When your estimate is all ready to go to your customer, press the green Print / Email Quote button (#3 on image to left).
Step 5 - Getting It To Your Client
What To Do
- Select the left hand side tick boxes to influence what is shown on your estimate (#1 on image to left).
- Use the right hand side tick boxes to show custom fields from you products data files (#2 on image to left).
- When you are done you can email straight from the software or you can save as a PDF and send via your usual email service (#3 on image to left).

What about if it isn't for me and I want to leave?
No problem. You can delete your account with the click of a button. You simply have to click on Settings on the top navigation bar and click the Delete Account button in the bottom right corner. All you account details will be deleted as will any payment details you may have entered. There is no contact to tie you in.

I'm not sure about web based estimating software, how secure is it?
Your data is stored in an individual database which is created just for you when you sign up. Only you have the password to this.
This database is hosted on a dedicated server at Heart Internet. It is backed up daily by them and also by us offsite. When you become a paid user, you can schedule .csv backups to be emailed to you daily, weekly or monthly. This way you have 100% access to your data.
