5 Steps To Getting Started - Small Business Contact Management Software
Step 1 - Create Your System
What To Do
- Create your free 30 day trial SpinLessPlates account by pressing one of the orange sign up buttons.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign up for your trial account.
- Read and then 'Hide' the three Dashboard help notices (#1 on image to left).
- Click the Company button in the navigation bar at the top of the screen to start entering your first contacts company details (#2 on image to left).
Step 2 - Enter A New Company
What To Do
- The company edit screen is split into 2 key areas, the Add and the List section.
- To add a new (or your first) company enter the details in the Add Company section on left (#1 on image to left).
- Tick Client or Supplier (or both) to categorise new entry. Add Company button will then appear (#2 on image to left).
- Press green Add Company button to add your new (or first) company.
- Note: Change the field titles by hovering over title, double clicking, amending and pressing return.
Step 3 - Enter Extra Details (Optional)
What To Do
- After entering a company, you'll see the Contacts tab (making it easy to enter the contacts next). Or click Extra Details tab to see more company date choices.
- The data you had just entered is saved on the left hand side (#1 on image to left). It can be edited by clicking in any field, amending and then clicking in the white space to save.
- Note: The company file can store two addresses, the main address on the left and the invoice address in the third section (#2 on image to left).
- Add tonnes more data to your company by re-naming and using the 40 custom fields available (#3 on image to left).
Step 4- Enter A New Contact
What To Do
- Enter the details of your new contact on the left hand side (#1 on image to left on right side).
- Note: Link the contact to your company using the drop down (if you haven't entered the company then click the + button to add a new company).
- Click the green Add Contact button to enter the new contact (#2 on image to left on right side).
- Existing contacts can be see (and searched) in the list view (#3 on image to left on right side).
Step 5 - Enter Extra Details (Optional)
What To Do
- You can edit the main details of your contact on the left hand side (#1 on image to left).
- Each contact can have a different 'Delivery Address', just click to edit (#2 on image to left).
- Optional: Enter your contacts social media details so you can click to view their profiles (#3 on image to left).
- Add lots more data to your contact using the Custom Fields tab where there are 40 more re-namable #4 on image to left)
- Use the tabs (#4 on image to left) in the contact file to see all the related files and documents
Step 6 - Use Data Everywhere
What To Do
- Enter your data once and then use it again and again throughout the software
- Manage each contact by setting tasks in your system. Then the tasks appear on the day they're due so you never forget (#1 on image to left).
- Manage your contacts performance using reports to review their quotes, invoices, sales or enquiries (#3 on image to left).
- Link contact to enquiries, quotes, sales, purchases or invoices for total contact management (#2 on image to left).

What about if it isn't for me and I want to leave?
No problem. You can delete your account with the click of a button. You simply have to click on Settings on the top navigation bar and click the Delete Account button in the bottom right corner. All you account details will be deleted as will any payment details you may have entered. There is no contact to tie you in.

Not sure about online contact management software, how secure is it?
Your data is stored in an individual database which is created just for you when you sign up. Only you have the password to this.
This database is hosted on a dedicated server at Heart Internet. It is backed up daily by them and also by us offsite. When you become a paid user, you can schedule .csv backups to be emailed to you daily, weekly or monthly. This way you have 100% access to your data.
